Kashmir pashmina weaving traces its documented lineage to the 15th century, when the Mughal emperor Akbar established royal karkhanas (workshops) to produce textiles for the imperial court. The techniques practiced today—Kani weaving with wooden bobbins, Sozni embroidery with hair-fine needles, natural dyeing from indigenous plants—remain unchanged across six centuries.
We position ourselves not as merchants but as cultural stewards, partnering with master artisans who own their cooperative, set their prices, and maintain complete creative control. Our role is documentation, authentication, and finding discerning collectors who understand they are acquiring heritage art, not commodity textile.

We operate under a cooperative ownership model where artisans are not beneficiaries but shareholders. Sixty percent of all profits flow directly to weavers; the remaining forty percent funds apprenticeship programs, natural dye research, and market access initiatives decided democratically by cooperative members.
This is not empowerment discourse—this is ownership. Women artisans elect leadership every three years, set quality standards, approve all marketing materials, and maintain pricing authority. We provide authentication infrastructure, museum-grade documentation, and access to collectors who understand the difference between luxury goods and heritage art.
